Elizabeth Wilman

Elizabeth is studying our Level 3 Health and Social Care course and is now in her second year.

After finding the course online and exploring the facilities, Elizabeth chose Riseholme as the place to start her Health and Social Care journey. She quickly settled in, making new friends during her first week, and enjoys studying at college three days a week.

A highlight of the course for Elizabeth has been the 150-hours of work placement experience she can gain on the course. She recently completed a work placement at St Barnabas, where she worked on a ward and gained valuable experience working alongside different departments and health professionals.

“My work placement was really valuable. I gained so much experience and I will cherish and remember it forever.”

Elizabeth has enjoyed both the practical and academic sides of the course and particularly enjoyed her Working in Health and Social Care exam.

Now looking ahead, Elizabeth has applied to the University of Lincoln as her next step and is receiving support through group tutorials to strengthen her application.

“The course is exciting and informative. You learn the theory, but the work experience helps you understand what to expect when you go into the field.”
