Chris is currently completing his Level 3 Land-Based Engineer Apprenticeship at Riseholme College while working for a tractor parts company.
Chris's career began in the company's warehouse, where he spent two years learning about the business and its products. After moving into an engineering role, he has now spent three years developing his practical skills and is completing his Level 3 apprenticeship to further expand his knowledge.
Choosing an apprenticeship was an easy decision for Chris, as it gave him the opportunity to continue learning both in the workplace and at college.
"I wanted to extend my knowledge, not only at work but also at college, where they've helped me a lot. No two days are ever the same."
Since starting his apprenticeship, Chris has developed both his practical and academic skills. With support from Riseholme College, he has achieved his Level 2 English and Maths qualifications while gaining experience in areas such as hydraulic testing and electronics, helping him build the technical knowledge needed for his career.
Reflecting on his experience, Chris is passionate about encouraging others to follow the apprenticeship route.
"I'd highly recommend an apprenticeship. I've loved every moment of it, so go for it!"
