Andrew Fielding

Andrew had previously worked in museums and heritage and he decided it was time for a career change. After attending a Riseholme Open Day in Spring 2006 and speaking to expert tutors, he decided to enrol onto the RHS Horticulture course, which he began in September 2007. Andrew remained focused throughout his studies and successfully completed the course. He has worked as a successful self-employed gardener.

Studying horticulture at Riseholme enabled Andrew to build a second career at an important stage in his life, giving him the opportunity to reinvent himself professionally and establish a successful career as a gardener.

Andrew describes his time at college as overwhelmingly positive. He built strong relationships with fellow students, with some friendships continuing to this day. Starting with very little horticultural knowledge, he developed a real passion for learning and embraced every opportunity to grow his skills and understanding.

For Andrew, the best part of studying at Riseholme was being able to learn something he genuinely cared about and felt enthusiastic about. He also remembers the campus grounds as a beautiful and inspiring environment to study in.
