Alice Holmes

Alice, a prior student and now Alumni, studied the National Diploma in Animal Management in 2006. She chose the course because she had always dreamed of working with animals, and the practical approach to learning really appealed to her.

Alice's time at college is something she still looks back on with a smile. It was an important part of developing her confidence. Alice made amazing friendships that have lasted over the years, and she remembers there being such a supportive atmosphere among people who shared the same interests and passions. There was a great balance between studying, practical work, and enjoying student life, which made the whole experience memorable.

One of the highlights for Alice was getting to work with animals almost every day. It never really felt like ‘work’ because it was something she genuinely loved doing and she enjoyed the balance between learning theory and through practical learning.

Looking back now, Alice can see just how much her time at college helped shape who she is today. Alice is now working as a Practice Manager, a role she is incredibly proud of. It requires organisation, communication, and the ability to handle challenges, and looking back, many of those skills first started developing during her time at Riseholme College.
