Skills Bootcamp

Riseholme College are delighted to offer Skills Bootcamps for this academic year 2025-2026. 

These Skills Bootcamps are part of the UK Governments Skills for Life Agenda, these are supported through Lincolnshire County Council. These courses will be run over a two week period: week Commencing 27/10/25 and 16/2/26 with the aim help learners either to upskill in their current job or give the foundations for a new job role.

Skills Bootcamps are free to individual learners and can be delivered either face to face or with some blended learning. Employers may need to contribute:

  • Large organisations will receive 70% government funding
  • SME’s will receive 90% government funding

To be able to access these Skills Bootcamps, learners must live and work in Greater Lincolnshire or Rutland

Skills Bootcamps Lincolnshire County Council

Land Based Engineering Skills Bootcamp

This skills Bootcamps in Land-Based Engineering is designed to fast-track individuals into skilled roles within agriculture, horticulture, and environmental machinery sectors or just to upskill in your current role. The purpose is to:

  • Address Industry Skills Gaps: With evolving technologies and sustainability demands, employers need technicians trained in modern machinery, diagnostics, and eco-friendly practices.
  • Prepare for Real-World Roles: Learners gain hands-on experience with prime movers, hydraulic systems, and digital tools used in farming and land management.
  • Support Green Transitions: Bootcamps cover alternative fuels and sustainable engineering methods, aligning with environmental goals in the sector.
  • Enable Career Entry or Progression: Whether you're new to land-based engineering or seeking to upskill, bootcamps offer a direct route to employment, apprenticeships, or further qualifications.
  • Deliver Practical, Job-Ready Training: From fault-finding to fabrication, learners develop the technical competencies employers value most.

Delivery: Riseholme College – Showground Campus

Cost: This course is funded as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee. Those who are unemployed the course is free. SMEs pay 10% of the programme value, while large employers pay 30%: SME £350, Large Business £1,050 (full price £3500).

To be eligible for course funding, learners must live and work in Great Lincolnshire and Rutland

Agriculture Management Skills Bootcamp

The Agriculture Manager Bootcamp would focus on developing strategic, technical, and operational skills needed to oversee modern farming enterprises.

This bootcamp would be designed to equip current or aspiring farm managers with the strategic, operational, and leadership skills needed to run modern agricultural enterprises.

Core Purpose

  • Develop leadership and decision-making skills tailored to agricultural settings.
  • Train managers in business operations, compliance, sustainability, and workforce coordination.
  • Prepare learners for real-world challenges in farm management, including financial planning, resource allocation, and regulatory oversight.

Delivery: Riseholme College – Showground Campus

Cost: This course is funded as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee. Those who are unemployed the course is free. SMEs pay 10% of the programme value, while large employers pay 30%: SME £250, Large Business £750 (full price £2500).
