The course

Are you looking to use boom sprayers on crops or turfs? This course is for you. The qualification is issued for life, however NPTC recommend that refresher training is carried out every three to four years. As well as being held at the college, this course can be delivered on your own site, using your own equipment ensuring your employees are trained in the environment they are most familiar with and at a time that best suits you.

Course Information

  • General safety
  • Pump types and maintenance
  • Hitching the sprayer to the tractor
  • After work cleaning and lubrication of the sprayer
  • Preparation for work
  • Field operation
  • Checking and storing
  • Setting and calibration

You will need to be a minimum of 16 years old an have completed the Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides - Foundation Unit PA1 prior to attending this course.

One day training, plus one day assessment.

You will be able to go on to study: Level 2 Award in Safe Use of Pesticides Slug Pellet PA4 Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides Hand Held Applicator PA6
