Through our multi-million pound Centre for Agri-Food Technology (part of the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology), you’ll have access to the latest precision farming technologies.

Sharon Kirby

Higher Education Academic Lead for Agriculture

Sharon has been in agriculture all of her life, being the daughter of a farmer. Qualified up to Level 7 from University of Lincoln, Harper Adams and DeMontfort University, she is keen to introduce young people from non-traditional farming backgrounds to the world of agriculture and the opportunities within the sector.

With over 25 years of experience in education, Sharon leads our Agriculture department. Her teaching interests include; record keeping for an agricultural business, agricultural marketing, global food production, business in wildlife and conservations and precision agriculture. Sharon's research interests include the use of technology in agriculture and its impact on farming businesses.

Sharon is a member of the Institute of Agricultural Management and a panel member of the Lincolnshire Young Farmers Association. She also sits on the Yorkshire and Humber Institute of Technology Research and CPD committee, as well as the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology Research and Innovation committee.
