If you want to pursue an engineering career, our general and more specialist land-based engineering courses are a great starting point.

Riseholme College provides dedicated engineering workshops that replicate industry workshops in order to prepare you for work at the end of your course.

We provide you with access to a full range of tools, training equipment (including welding simulators) and machinery, with expert tutors on hand to help with the development of your skills.

You can learn the principles of mechanical engineering and gain practical skills such as fabrication and basic welding, depending on the type of course you pick - Level 2, Level 3, an apprenticeship, or short course.

Riseholme has great links with engineering businesses, enabling you to gain work experience and secure work placements and employment after your engineering course.

Land-based engineering

Riseholme is an agricultural college, so if you want to specialise in land-based engineering we provide the perfect place to do so.

We offer you the chance to work on different vehicles, including JCBs, tractors and horticultural equipment, and you can study vehicle engine mechanics and technology, testing, servicing and repair. You also have the opportunity to study agricultural robotics, computer-based imaging and GPS technology.
