Course Information

  • To develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours as required for employment and future career progression within the industry.<p></p>
  • What you will study:
  • Tree Identification
  • Arboricultural Operations
  • Safe Working Practices
  • Risk Assessments
  • Climb and conduct aerial arboricultural operations
  • Perform aerial rescue
  • Fell and process trees safely
  • Use specialist machinery
  • Manage work sites effectively
  • Carry out formative pruning
  • Environmental impact assessments
  • Customer Care

You will need appropriate employment in the arboriculture industry. It is preferrable that you have GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above<p></p>

You will develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours through practical and theory based lessons<p></p>

You will be released one day per week to undertake training at college<p></p>

Employed within the industry, you will work 30-40 hours per week<p></p>
You will be assessed through an end point assessment (EPA) and graded pass, merit or distinction. Please note the duration does not include the EPA<p></p>
  • Stationery such as pens and paper
  • An electronic device to access online learning
  • Boots, heavy duty gloves and appropriate outdoor wear for practical sessions
More advanced courses are available at college for further progression. You may also have the opportunity to be promoted to a higher level position at work.<p></p>
