Today we also spoke at the Waterline Summit, joining a host of businesses and educational providers to focus on the importance of finding nature-based solutions to face the challenge of becoming carbon neutral and improving environmentally friendly practices across the region. Bill Meridith, Principal of Bishop Burton, spoke passionately about how we are taking on the challenge that the agricultural sector contributes towards over 10% of the UK's greenhouse gas carbon emissions.

As part of the Yorkshire and Humber Institute of Technology, the college aims to increase agricultural efficiency through precision agriculture, as well as working to improve soil and increase the generation of renewable energy. The benefits of precision agriculture mean reduced inputs and therefore a reduced carbon footprint, increased crop yields and of a better quality and improved animal health and welfare. Through educating the next generation of agriculture professionals in these cutting-edge technological advances and practices we are at the centre of innovation and designing a greener future across the region.
