Year 2

  • Anatomy and Physiology in Health and Social Care

  • Psychologial Perspectives
  • Caring for Individuals with Dementia
  • Assessing Childrens Development and Support Needs

You will need four GCSEs at grade 4 or C or equivalent, including English and Maths, or a relevant BTEC Level 2 / First Diploma. One satisfactory reference and a clear Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check are also required.

You will learn from a mix of theory and practical sessions, enhanced by guest speakers and relevant visits.

You will normally be in college three days a week.

You will undertake 100 hours of work experience.
You will be assessed through assignments and external exams.
Following successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to study at degree level.
A huge range of opportunities are available, including in healthcare, social work, counselling and many others. This qualification also provides the opportunity to enter the profession at a more senior level.
