The Course

This programme combines academic modules in equine and human sport science with practical equitation and coaching modules that will enable you to appreciate the role of the professional coach and to understand the qualities needed to coach effectively.

Applications for the year you wish to study open in September the year before. Whilst UCAS advertise a January deadline, we continue to accept applications through to the September you wish to start with us, provided we have spaces available.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have a minimum of 80 UCAS points at A-Level, a relevant Level 3 Extended Diploma or equivalent or an Access to Higher Education Diploma, plus a satisfactory reference.

Life experience of mature students will be taken into account when considering applications. The successful completion of an entry task may be required when considering applications without the required formal entry qualifications.

Equitation modules require riding to BHS Stage 2 or equivalent standard, or above.

If your first language is not English, or you require a Tier 4 student visa to study and do not hold GCSE grade C English or equivalent, you will be required to provide evidence of your English language proficiency level such as International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 6.0 overall (with a minimum 5.5 in each skill).
