Course: NPTC Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting + Fell and Process of Small Trees

The Course

The course combines NPTC CS30 Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting with NPTC CS31 Fell and Process of Small Trees.

From a Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting perspective, the course will teach candidates legislation, maintenance of the chainsaw, safety requirements and hazards of using a chainsaw, chain sharpening, fuelling, oiling, pre-start checks and starting the chainsaw safely. The course will also teach candidates cross-cutting.

In regards to the Fell and Process of Small Trees, the course will teach candidates safe techniques of felling various small trees, snedding and de-limbing felled trees and taking down of hung tress using hand tools.

Students are required to supply their own chainsaw.

Entry Requirements

The minimum age for a candidate taking this course is 18 years old.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification however candidates will be required to supply their own chainsaw and personal protective equipment.
