An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Agricultural Engineering department at Riseholme College, in the role as Engineering Workshop Technician. The College has been successful with a bid where by a New Institute of Technology will be built on the Showground Campus, and also an additional state of the art engineering workshop is being built on our Riseholme Parks site to compliment the established and extensive resources on the Showground Campus. The successful candidate’s primary activity will be to maintain the teaching resource and equipment; arranging servicing, preparing and maintaining equipment for practical teaching, while ensuring full compliance of health and safety requirements. You will also be responsible for the movement of resources between sites including towing tractors, trailers, teleporter/forklift. The role will involve supervising student group practical activities and undertaking the role of practical instructor. If you are motivated and skilled in engineering, preferably but not essentially have an agriculture specialism/interest, with a high health and safety focus we would like to hear from you. You do not necessarily need to be from a teaching background, so this post would also be of interest to someone in industry that is looking for a new and exciting opportunity, with a forward thinking College and Engineering team.
